Finding places that have used kitchen cabinets for sale is no longer a problem for me. But there are a few reasons why I prefer used kitchen cabinets over buying a brand new kitchen cabinet.
The very first and the most obvious is the huge difference in price. A new kitchen cabinet set will cost you a fortune and put a lot of pressure on your bank balance. Also once you go in for a new kitchen cabinet there's also the temptation to add a few add-ons to it which means spending even more dollars in the process. And that's where these used cabinets come to the rescue because they are so economical and their price tag doesn't hurt one bit.
An additional reason for going in for old kitchen cabinets is because they can be obtained at highly discounted prices. Sometimes, people even give their old ones away for free. It's like a dream coming true when you get such nice things for free.
You've always wanted to do your bit for the environment but didn't know where to start. I suggest you take that first step by purchasing an old cabinet because it saves on a lot of material. Just imagine the amount of trees that can be saved from cutting if all of us decide to go in for old wooden cabinets. It's by far the shortest way of going green and doing your bit for the planet.
Just because you are buying a used cabinet does not mean you are going in for a lesser quality one. A lot of people have the same misconception when I suggest them to buy used cabinets instead of new ones. Instead you can get some really high end cabinets for a fraction of their original cost. I know of a lot of people who are now proud owners of kitchen cabinets that were once the property of some celebrities and high end estate players. And the best part is that they got it at ridiculously low prices.
Purchasing an old cabinet also gives you the benefit of saving on the installation charges. What many people don't know is that manufacturers include and additional hidden installation charge when you buy a new kitchen cabinet. It's not exactly rocket science and one can get it done very cheaply by hiring a local guy to do the job.
Hence my suggestion for you would be to keep a lookout on any advertisements that carry ads on used kitchen cabinets for sale otherwise you might spend a lot of extra money buying a new one and then regret your decision.
